1. Don’t follow up too quickly.

A good rule of thumb is to send the first follow-up email about four to five days after the original email.

6. Keep it concise.

Think about the emails you actually take the time to read—they aren’t long ones. No one has time for those. If your follow-up email is longer than five sentences, then it’s too long.
